Shanila is a graduate in Fine Art from the Malaysian Institute of Art in Malaysia. Throughout her academic career in Malaysia she was awarded certificates of excellence for exceptional performances each semester and was awarded the highest honour of a gold medal for the best Fine Art student of 2003 . Shanila is a professional artist who has participated in many exhibitions and is also an experienced high school Art teacher specialising in the teaching of IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Edexcel Art and has assisted her students in  receiving A grade results in their examinations. She currently works as a Art Instructor at art therapy centres and conducts public & private art classes in Perth Australia.

Art has been the largest inspiration in Shanila’s life. It is something she enjoys spending time on and it gives her an immense sense of satisfaction. She strongly believes that discipline, dedication and hard work is always well rewarded.

For Shanila, painting is not only a way to express her artistic talents; it is also a form of meditation and relaxation. Her art has been appreciated by a wide audience, including private collectors and leading organizations, both local and foreign.

According to Shanila, no matter what subject matter a painting consists of , it should give life to its surroundings while creating an atmosphere which best compliments the environment it is placed in.

  • 2016-2017 -Art Instructor- Reflections Art Studio, Northbridge/Creative Expressions (CECAT )Mt Claremont. Department of Health North Metro,Western Australia.
  • 2015-2017-Conducts art classes for all ages and skill levels, in East Cannington Western Australia.
  • 2000 – 2017- Professional Artist-Paintings commissioned for interiors in officers, homes and hotels and have participated in solo and group exhibitions.
  • 2013-2017- Art Instructor -Carbenet & Canvas , Perth Australia.
